This is where the power of blockchain as a technology comes in.

The asset behind an NFT itself - in this case, say a viral TikTok video - is either stored "on chain" (on the blockchain itself) or typically on a permaweb solution like IPFS.

For instance, if you go to places like OpenSea or Foundation, can you find links to the IPFS file of of the visual asset.

So, if the original platform where the asset was first created disappears, the file remains.

As to Melon more specifically, a copy of each social media content will be made.

As you are correct, many a times a social media influencer will themselves remove old content, or perhaps content that doesn't fit with their new direction any longer; or the platform could remove the content, or in-deed "de-platform" the creator altogether.

Not an issue for us.

In fact, we do plan on releasing some viral moments created on Vine, before the platform disappears. This makes those assets doubly rare: because they went viral *and* are not available to consume anywhere else.
