Great ending - society makes it so tempting to compare ourselves to others all the time, rather than focusing on our own process; and seeking a source of fulfilment that isn't external.

I also spent the first years of my career going all guns blazing, in the fast-paced-high-burnout world of management consulting. That was fine for a time - and it gets you to learn like crazy.

But ultimately, asking myself a few simple questions led to a change of path.

"What am I working towards here? Am I following the crowd, merely doing what's expected of me by the system? Or am I doing this for the right reasons; i.e. because it's fulfilling, on purpose, puts fire in my belly?"
