After Tweets, entire blog posts and articles - why not? Intellectually it's a fascinating proposition with implications around ownership and co-creation with a wider audience (e.g. could the text be programmatic and change based on certain circumstances, or be tweaked by the buyer to leave their own mark to the work?).
There's this feeling of a feverish gold rush fuelled by FOMO and the hope of huge, quick gains at the moment; driven by the mouth-watering headlines of Beeple and other top artists' proceeds from NFT sales...
But the environmental cost is an issue buried beneath all this...I validated a mere 2 transactions that created absolutely 0 economic value on OpenSea (for artwork which will never sell), which let out Co2 in the real world as a result of the processing power involved in validating these...
Which begs the question: is all this frenzy worth the cost?
For a few wealthy individuals, certainly.
It's somewhat ironic to see bold claims to the tune of "crypto-will-equalize-the-world-and-give-the-power-power-back-to-the people"...yes you can now buy a 1,000th of a Mona Lisa and own a tiny pixel on a screen...but it's fairly obvious we have a bunch of extremely wealthy individuals spending shocking amounts of cash on digital assets here...How that achieves the original intent, I'm not so sure!
